ABOUT THE ROLE: 

A Business Consultant is a business savvy, hunter with expert-level knowledge of the BSS/OSS industry. You are on the front lines, acting as a consultant; gathering customer business requirements and priorities, developing trust within the client organization, and driving new business opportunities to close. You are responsible for driving strategic enterprise business opportunities across North America, while selling the value of our products and services. You will work alongside the sales team, reporting directly to our Vice President of Sales.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Drive our new business opportunities to close; meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual objectives

  • Build a strategic plan to generate and develop complex business opportunities, resulting in an executable sales process that will accurately capture customer requirements, ensuring the solution sold achieves customer objectives

  • Record contacts and daily sales activity in CRM to support account development and business forecasting

  • Maintain and manage pipeline opportunities and forecast in CRM

  • Conduct high level product demonstration as needed

  • Create, present, and negotiate commercial proposals to close deals

  • Collaborate with the AppDirect sales team and educate them on our capabilities in order to drive cross-sell opportunities with AppDirect existing customers and potential customers

  • Some travel will be required

     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years selling high-value, enterprise SaaS software solutions

  • In-depth understanding of BSS/OSS industry solutions (billing, rating, provisioning, asset management, etc.) 

  • Proven track record of successfully managing long, complex sales cycles resulting in closed contracts with new accounts

  • Proven ability to quickly establish relationships throughout all levels of an organization from technical to executive, understanding complex customer needs, and showing value to each customer level

  • Self-motivated, independent, and high performance individual with an affinity for understanding complex technology 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Experience selling into telecommunication service providers, utility providers, and/or enterprise organizations
    University degree in either business, technology or marketing, MBA preferred.
